Hemstitch Embroidery and Cilaos Embroidery
Technique
You can embroider a hemstitch in any countable fabric.
You pull threads out of the fabric in one direction and bundle the remaining fabric threads according to the pattern.
You can embroider a hemstitch with any thread, embroidery twist or quadruple embroidery thread is often used. But it also works with crochet thread or sewing thread.

If you stitch a hemstitch around a blanket, holes are created in the corners by the pulled out threads. These holes are in turn stitched out by pulling in threads and weaving them around the threads.
